What kind of wax do you use?

We use hypoallergenic hard wax for all facial waxing and many body waxing services. We offer the highest quality hypoallergenic soft wax for large areas of the body, such as a full leg wax. Brazilian waxing will always be done with hard wax.

How can i prepare for my wax appointment?

Exfoliation 48 hours before your appointment is ideal. Your hair should be 1/4 inch long, which is about the length of a grain of rice. If your hair is very long, please do not trim with electric clippers, but use scissors instead. Clippers can make some hairs too short to be picked up by the wax. Do not drink alcohol before your appointment, as this will cause the hair follicle to constrict around the hair shaft and actually make your wax more painful. Please do not tan the day of your reservation and we can’t wax over a sunburn.

Is a brazilian really painful?

As with all waxing, you will feel some discomfort. Your first wax will be the most painful, as the root of the hair will be very thick. When you shave, the hair stays in a constant state of growth, causing the root to be very large like a bulb. Removing the hair from the root every four weeks keeps the root small and eventually your wax will be a breeze.

What activities should i avoid after my wax?

You should avoid direct sunlight, pools, hot tubs, lakes, saunas, working out, and steam for a minimum of 24 hours after your wax. Exfoliation should begin 3 days later to ensure best wax results. Histamine reactions are normal after a wax and it doesn’t mean you’re allergic to waxing; it does mean, however, that your body naturally responds to the trauma of the removal of the hair with a histamine reaction.

Can i wax when i’m menstruating?

You can absolutely still get bikini waxes while menstruating. I only ask that you use a tampon during your service, which will be provided for you if you don’t have one. Hormones during this time of month may cause you to feel more sensitive to heat, but otherwise you probably won’t have any added discomfort.

CAN I WAX WHILE I’M PREGNANT?

Yes, waxing is safe during pregnancy. I recommend being vigilant with your at home care to decrease the likelihood of ingrown hairs.

CAN I WAX WHILE I’M ON ACNE MEDICATIONS OR ACNE PRESCRIPTION CREAM?

It’s imperative that you disclose all medication before your wax as this can cause the skin to lift or burn. You must be off the following medications for 7 days before your wax: Retin-A, Adapalene, Alustra Avage, Avita, Differin, Duac, Epiduo, Isotretinoin, Renova, Tazarac, Tazarotene, Tretinoin, Ziana.

You must be off the following for one year prior to waxing: Accutane.

If you have any uncertainties or questions regarding waxing on these medications please consult your dermatologist.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

Yes, we require 24 hours notice for cancellations and rescheduled reservations. This allows us enough time to fill your spot. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or no show, you will be charged for 50% of the total of services booked. A card must be placed on file upon booking.

CAN I BRING CHILDREN OR GUESTS TO MY RESERVATION?

No, it’s a liability to have small children in the studio. Older children that have a reservation with you are more than welcome. We do not allow guests in the room for brazilian waxing.

DO YOU wax men?

We do offer waxing for men. However, we only offer bikini services for vulvas with online booking. We may offer brazilian waxing for people with penises with a referral from a current client or individuals that are transitioning up to each waxer’s personal choice; please contact us in these instances. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances, by any sex or gender identity.
